In 2013, the Croatian Counties and Cities Disaster Risk Reduction Platform (CCCP) was established, as a local level DRR cooperation network, strongly supported by the UNDP. SEE URBAN project idea was to expend this networking model via the UNDP Country Office presence and cooperation with local level DRR stakeholders in all the project countries/territories.
Organized by the CCCP, the first SEE URBAN Regional Meeting was held in Opatija in Croatia, from October 16 to October 18, 2017. The Regional Meeting was organized aiming to exchange the DRR experience and strengthen local institutions’ capacities involved in reducing the risks from natural disasters and other accidents in seven states/territories of South East Europe (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, the Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo* and Albania) as well as strengthen international cooperation in the area of disaster risk reduction.
